Discipleship classes provide children and adults an opportunity to ask questions, learn what the Bible teaches, and how to live as Christians in today’s world. There is something for every age. They start at 10 AM on Sundays at Petra Academy, September through May. Classes begin each year after Labor Day weekend and finish the Sunday before Memorial weekend.
This class is highly interactive; sometime controversial, but never dull. Recent teachings covered the books of Revelation, 1 Corinthians, and Ezekiel. We also tackle tough topics like, “Medical Ethics” and “Do Demons Exist Today?”
Junior High and Senior High
This group focuses on relevant discussions and relationships as well as preparing young people for the world of ideas which awaits them. Students will often watch a clip from a video or read a quote from a book and then ask what the Bible says about this topic.
Toddlers and Grade School
Children’s classes are centered on discipling the next generation—preparing them as lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. These classes use a curriculum called Show Me Jesus. Children are given opportunity to receive a well-rounded understanding of the Bible that centers on getting to know Jesus better.
We provide nursery care for children ages 3 and under in a safe, clean and fun environment. Nursery is available during the Discipleship Class time (10AM-10:45 AM) as well as during the Sunday Worship services. Please bring a bag containing diapers, cup or bottle, pacifier, blanket, etc.
