Trinity Church facilitates a Laundry Love outreach event at Duds ‘n Suds on South 23rd Avenue the second Saturday evening of each month.
The idea of Laundry Love is motivated by a desire to bring worth and value to all human beings demonstrating to them the Love of God while bringing and restoring dignity, in a simple way, to their daily lives. We all yearn to be treated with dignity and to feel, simply put, normal. We have an intrinsic desire, as created by God in His image, to be valued and loved; providing clean clothes, towels and bedding is one easy way to bring this to others. https://www.just4one.
Laundry Love fosters community participation and improvement in many ways. As Christians, our hope is for conversations and relationships to go beyond our familiar church relationships as we seek to serve and love the city of Bozeman. LL gives us an opportunity to be a blessing to others, learn their stories and demonstrate to them the Love of God, showing them what it means to be invited into relationship, as we were invited into the gospel story of restoration, redemption and reconciliation.
How Laundry Love works
At each event, there is a facilitator along with 10-15 other volunteers. Flyers are distributed through Love INC, Duds ‘n Suds, the HRDC, The Community Cafe, the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and in the surrounding community. Guests who wish to participate arrive during the event time with two to three loads of laundry and have their laundry washed while volunteers and guests make new friends and enjoy a meal together.
