Student Ministry: Youth (6th-12th grades)
In Matthew 19:14 Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Our goal is to provide just the space to bring our students to Jesus. We do this by providing worship, teaching, and mentorship. Time with other adults in the church who care about them and can model what it means to follow Jesus in today’s culture is essential to their spiritual growth. Here’s how youth (6th-12th grades) can get involved:
Discipleship Classes
Sundays, 7th —12th grades. From 10 AM-10:45 AM (School year) This option varies based on what adult Sunday School Classes are available.
Junior High Youth Group (6th-8th grades)
If you’re in 6th-8th grade, come join us for dinner, teaching, and prayer groups the first three Wednesday nights of the month from 6-7:30 PM. Meets at Petra Academy.
High School Youth Group (9th-12th grades)
If you’re in 9th-12th grade please join us for worship, teaching, and prayer groups every Wednesday night from 7:30-9:30 PM. Meets at Petra Academy.
Fall Retreat
Each fall we take our 9th-12th graders on a retreat for rest, refreshment, and restoration! Plan on biblical teaching, worship, team building, and outdoor activities! (Last Weekend in October)
Winter Retreat
Early each year, students (6th-12th grade) head up to Yellowstone Alliance Adventures for the weekend for our annual Winter Retreat! We have a great time hanging out, playing broom hockey, flying down the tubing hill, and playing games.
We have a spiritual emphasis theme each year that drives our evening programs of worship and teaching. Details will be in the fall Student Ministries Newsletter. (Last Weekend in February)
Student Leaders
Each year we offer opportunities for High School students to come alongside our jr. high students as leaders of their small groups. This gives High School students an opportunity to live out their faith in Jesus by serving, discipling, and spending time with Jr. High students. If this is something that you’re interested in as a High School student, please let us know!
Our Vision for Student Ministry
TSM Vision: To Disciple Students by entering into life with and walking alongside students. To point them to Jesus and God’s Grace in their lives. To help them intersect faith in Christ with their growth in Christ. To model and encourage a love
for God’s Word. To help and assist their families whenever needed and possible with their spiritual growth.
